Questions?
How much does a website cost to set up?
The cost of a website build really depends on the project. We consider everything from the features and design needed to the complexity of the infrastructure and technology. For most custom websites, we’ve eliminated the up-front cost of the website build by introducing our simplified monthly flat-rate plan. However, if you require a more complex solution, we’ll meet first to determine the scope of work and prepare a proposal.
It’s also important to note that websites generally aren’t one-and-done products; they require monthly maintenance and upkeep to thrive on the ever-changing internet. That’s why our plan rocks. We help your website compete by making adjustments and improvements during the 12 month period (and long after).
Can I throttle my plan down?
You betcha! We’re here to help you grow your business, all we ask is that you stick with your initial plan for 12 months. Then, when the time comes you have the flexibility to downgrade (or upgrade) your plan to fit your changing needs.
Am I bound by a contract?
You’ve got us for at least a year, and a lot happens in that first 12 months. We build your website, we optimize it and we provide the support you should expect from your website partner. After the initial 12 months, you can throttle your plan up or down as needed. Your plan will automatically continue on a month-to-month basis which can be canceled per our Terms of Service available on our legal page.
Are there additional costs beyond the monthly plan?
Our monthly plans do not include hosting, domain registration or third-party software licensing. That doesn’t mean we aren’t able to help, it’ll just cost a little more.
Is website hosting included in my plan?
We don’t include hosting in our website plan because every website has different needs. 8bitstudio has partnered with some of the most reputable hosting providers in the industry and we prefer to host your site. Pricing is determined on a site-by-site basis. Get in touch with us to talk about hosting plans. If you already have a hosting provider or want to host it yourself, that works too.
Do you provide proposals or just flat-rate plans?
If your organization requires a proposal, we welcome RFPs. Our flat-rate plans do not cover new development for complex websites.
How long does it typically take to build a website?
This entirely depends on the project. The timeline varies depending on the complexity of the site and how quickly you can provide us feedback & content. On average a custom website can take anywhere from 2-6 months to build. Complex websites can take anywhere from 4-12 months to build.

What is front-end development?
Front-end development is all about creating the visible parts of websites or applications – the layout, design, and interactive elements that users directly engage with.
What is back-end development?
Back-end development involves building and maintaining the server, database, and application logic that power the functionality of a website or web application, working behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. It’s like the engine room of a digital experience.
